Dachshund or Teckel Amigurumi, Free English Pattern

This Amigurumi Dachshund (or Teckel amigurumi) is one of my favorite amigurmi. I have used a lot of yarn, because it is larger tan many others.

Dachshund amigurumi

I´ve done this teckel with a yarn thicker than I normally use, and with a 2.5 mm hook. I have relied on a dog I´ve seen in Internet, and I have been guided by this pattern.
I´ve changed many things, so I put as I have done. Keep in mind that it isn´t a translation of the original.
By the way, I´ve started a blog with all the free tutorials and pattern I ´ve seen. It´s very easy to find the patterns. It´s called DIVERSIDADES; if you are interested the address is:

TECKEL AMIGURUMI, FREE ENGLISH PATTERN
The teckel is made with a cotton/acrylic yarn and 2.5 mm crochet (you need a smaller crochet than that recmmended by the manufacturer of wool).. It takes two alternative colors (or more if you want to make a striped one, for example), small safety eyes, and a bit of felt to decorate.
inc = increase
dec = decrease
sc = single crochet
ss = slip stitch
ch= chain stitch

Dachshund amigurumi

A trick that it's simple to obtain most beautiful amigurumi is to alternate increases in the rounds. In this way the rounds are non hexagonal one.

HEAD

We started in grey..  Spiral (continuous rounds) crochet. We start with 2 chain stitches.
1.- 6 sc in second chain from the hook (6)
2.- 6 inc (12)
3.- 1 sc, 1 inc, repeat to end (18)
4-6.- 1 cs in each point (18)
7.- 1 sc, 1 dec, repeat to end (12)
Changing color, in my case to pink one:
8.- 1 sc, ainc, repeat to end (18)
9.- 1 inc, 5 sc, repeat to end (21)
10.- 6 sc, 1 inc, repeat to end (24)
11.- 1 sc in each point (24)
12.- 1 inc, 7 sc, repeat to end (27)
13.- 1 sc in each point (27)
14.- 8 sc, 1 inc, repeat to end (30)
15.- 1 sc in each point (30)
16.- 1 inc, 9 sc, repeat to end (33)
17.- 1 sc in each point (33)
18.- 10 sc, 1 inc, repeat to end (36)
19.- 1 sc in each point (36)
20.- 1 inc, 11 sc, repeat to end (39)
21 - 22.- 1 sc in each point (39)
23.- 12 sc, 1 inc, repeat to end (42)
24 y 25.- 1 sc in each point (42)
26.- 1 inc, 13 sc, repeat to end (45)
27- 28.- 1 sc in each point (45)
29.- 14 sc, 1 inc, repeat to end (48)
30-37.- 1 sc in each point (48)
38.- 6 sc, 1 dec, repeat to end (42)
39.- 1 dec, 5 sc, repeat to end (36)
Begin to fill the head
40.- 4 sc, 1 dec, repeat to end (30)
41.- 1 dec, 3 sc, repeat to end (24)
42.- 2 sc, 1 dec, repeat to end (18)
43.- 1 dec, 1 sc, repeat to end (12)
44.- 6 dec (12)
We finish with a long strand to hide inside the head.
I´ve done the eyes with three felt circles of different colors and sizes, because i like the effect.

EARS
Make two. Starting with a magic ring, in spiral. I´ve used pink color.
1.- 6 sc in second chain from the hook (6)
2.- 6 inc (12)
3.- 1 sc, 1 inc, repeat to end (18)
4.- 2 sc, 1 inc, repeat to end (24)
5.- 1 inc, 3 sc, repeat to end (30)
6-10.- 1 sc in each point (30)
11.- 3 sc, 1 dec, repeat to end (24)
12-15.- 1 sc in each point (24)
16.- 2 sc, 1 dec, repeat to end (18)
17 y 18.- 1 sc in each point (18)
19.- 1 sc, 1 dec, repeat to end (12)
20-23.- 1 sc in each point (12) We close with 1 ss.
We leave a long strand and don´t fill the ears.

Dachshund amigurumi

You,ll never guess who has been playing with PicMonkey, will you?

If you don´t like some of the proportions and want to change them, it´s just a matter of trying to increase or decrease points faster or slower.

I feel my English language is so wrong, but I hope you understand the pattern.

  2. I've not been crocheting 2 months yet, but I was able to follow this easily! He's not finished but I don't anticipate any issues. The only edit I will suggest with regard to the English language is in places like this (head) "21 y 22" change out "y" for "and". I was trying to figure out what instruction Y stood for before realizing it was Spanish for "and"!

    Anyway, you'll see my version of your little dog on Ravelry soon! Thank you for this adorable pattern! <3
